Ok, I tell the woman, I'll be back at 3. I'll fix it. Cancel the others.
I buy some pipe & get back. Stopcock in kitchen seized up. Out in road, new water meter, easy to turn off.
So back up I go to the sweltering loft, wait a few mins & the water stops spraying out, cut 6" piece of pipe out, put straight coupler & ballofix on, nice and tight, water in, no leaks, yippee
Clear up. She says how much? I say what do the other company say they'll charge you? £50 callout, £60 first hour plus parts, £25 per half after that. Ok, I'll charge you £65 all in.
Oh, I thought you'd charge £20??!!!!
Errrr... no, I've done you a favour & charged less.
Right, oh, ok, right, is a cheque ok?
