Hi chaps, iv read about this and cant get me head around it.not following were the last tee would be on the system.maybe one for the drawing board in the taven tom.. cheers guys😊

ok endfeed one for the tavern it is, first tee, vent from boiler, second tee, cold feed from header third tee cylinder ( this is the 3 port valve) then all the rad tee's and lastly the cylinder return must be the last tee,

You can always tell when some twat tees a rad circuit in after the cylinder, seen that many times.

I've got to say rocket that it's a bit of terminology that I've never heard of before. If that was a exam question I wouldn't have had a clue!
Although I do fully understand what tom is saying about the boiler expansion having no valves on it (a primary safety valve is what the expansion pipe is). 1st T The pump pulling in water on the cold feed and then depositing it over the expansion is a very common fault on this type of system (fully pump). 2nd T When the pump is operating on the H/W mode you don't want it having any influence whatsoever on the CH. 3rd T
Don't know if I'm making things more complicated so I'll stop here.
A plumbing firm that I worked for in the 70s would always take the upstairs CH flow from the gravity primary return !!!!! The reason the gaffer gave was to give the circ's a boost when the CH was on. You won't find this in any plumbing manual
