Especially interesting around 12.40 I thought and I'm trying to take the info on that diode converting the current to DC who's static pulse is sufficient to hold the motor in the mid-way position for heating and hot water (I never knew that)(then the little amount of AC going through to the valve stops the valve from magnetising) into my long term memory.

It's one of those things that given the chance I can bore my colleagues and the boffins at work with (I don't think this is common knowledge for plumbers).
