It's very rare I do a full day, but when I do I get hand cramps afterwards. Was out for 6 hours today swapping a basin for a vanity and replacing a flush/fill in a loo that needed pulling away from the wall to service. Probably about 3 hours proper work with an hour or so getting there and back then brews and nipping to merchants but now I can't smoke my e-cig without my hand cramping up. Pretty much happens every time I do more than a couple of hours work in a day.

I've never had that happen JC, it sounds to my like white finger, thats what you get through using vibrating tools ( oh hey missuis) for a long time, miners and road workers get it, you might be able to get compy for that if you've worked for a firm that forced you to,

I googled about cramp and I think I know the issue. The tight gits didn't offer me a brew all the time I was there and I had a salty Chinese for tea and I was thirsty as fook when I got back. Turns out cramp is often caused by a salt imbalance which happens when you let yourself be thirsty for too long, the Chinese wouldn't of helped either. If it happens again I'll make a note of brews offered / food eaten and see if it's that. Might have to get a prescription off my Doc that I can show customers that don't offer me enough refreshments

I get numbness when I sleep. It wakes me up & I need to lower my hand to get the blood in it.
I also sometimes need to wear a thumb support. It feels like my thumbs been bent back. Not always but at the moment I do

Not good mate, hope you get it sorted. Had a pretty busy day today but was supplied with cups of tea and didn't have a salty Chinese for tea and no cramping, so at least I know to just keep hydrated. smiley-eatdrink014 pop Probably doesn't help that I sweat like a good un if I'm working hard(ish)

I'd say all plumbers work hard, Its the nature of the beast, just carrying your toolbox on its own is enough to tire a desk monkey, we're constantly going up and down stairs mostly carrying tools, equipment, rads, toilets etc etc, Its an active job, I start every morning with a coat and hat on and ten minutes after getting to the job they come off, then when you go out to the van for stuff you suddenly get cold again, I lose loads of coats, hats. pullovers because i forget where i put them, And sweat, yea buckets full, My mentor was 25 stone, I never understood why he was active all day every day, but he eat a lot, smiley-eatdrink020 eat

I took my toolbox in from the van earlier & I can't carry it with one hand. It must weigh 35kg. It's ridiculous

Hehe, yeah mine's the same, I have a toolbox for waste fittings/clips, one for building tools, one for 15/22mm fittings, brass stuff and pushfit, another one with all sorts of different bits like close couple fixing kits, flush handles washer packs etc. However my toolbag, the one I take first into any job must weigh as much as all of them put together Problem is, whenever I sort it out I can never find owt...
