Stepdaughter's husband helped strip out a closed hospital's boiler house. Took him almost a week to cut up the "hot water cylinder". When he weighed it in, he got over £3 grand (cylinder only) I went with my brother a couple of days, stripping out pipes and both days we made around £850 in scrap. There was one pipe that was copper and almost 4" in diameter and I'd reckon about 3mm thick. (stepson was one of the security guards, so let us in during the day)

You'd have loved it Clart. Fantastic old Victorian building (all gone now) and quite a scary feeling being in there (even though it was daylight) Stepson was telling me he couldn't keep the copper thieves out at night time and even when there were no thieves about, he wouldn't enter the main hospital building.
