Started today, had to get up at 0530hrs, on m25 by 0615hrs & at location by 0645hrs.
Drove around Surrey, fixed one rad, one boiler needs new pressure vessel or boiler replacement as it's old, got shitty bathroom to swap, seems to be plenty of variety.
Finished at 3 which was a bonus
The boss is good guy
One 16yo apprentice
Another chap about 26 yo just done his gas.
Further reports & pics as i go
Off to my rack now. V tired

I find first days are always a bit strange (just realised that I've not had a "first day" for over 14 years!).
A few years ago one new starter had a letter from HR telling him his first day would be an induction day, so he didn't bring his tools with him.
When he arrived the boss was off, and the charge hand for the day gave him some van keys, a map and a wad of jobs!
So much for his induction!!

2 landlord gas certs, replaced recessed gas meter box, looked at 2 boilers - parts ordered, fixed leaky rad, looked a house in weybridge - 1.8 million on market for sale - be working there tomorrow, swapped hose on water softener at 1.4 million flat in Twickenham
It's a lot better class than where I live
Long days but all ok at the moment.
Hope everyone is ok

Rocket you're getting Plenty variety and it's the type of work which can easily end up as fiddle work for personal customers in your area stamp Not be long before the phones ringing off the wall.

I've got a pressure vessel in a boiler to change (with gsr man). Seems good |

Not a great day
Arrived & sat until 0830 until guv arrived, half hour late, went in & he had a tea, sent & read some emails, 0930 we leave, go to merchants, drive 45 mins to look at job, order part & leave, go back to read emails, go to merchants, go to another job, 1st fix complete bodge, tiler tiles against pipes & nothing moves, ridiculous, 4.30 builder phoned him, 20 min conversation, it's also his mate, leave at 5. All finished, no, he sits in van making more calls to mates.
6pm get back & i leave. Another hour as I hit traffic until I get home.
I sort of mentioned the 8-4hrs aren't & im not complaining (I am a bit).
Anyway, heat only boiler to fit tomorrow & hopefully off at a decent time.
The other 3 people phones at 3.40 & had finished & went home!
I gotta tough it out for a bit I know.
