Hi all
I'm going to make the leap into the world of self employment in the new year. Can I ask what you all do for advertising? Do any of you use my builder or trusted tradesmen and the like? Any info advice will be gratefully appreciated.

word of mouth is the king, advertize as cheaply as you can otherwise you are working for penpushers, get some cards made and get them out there,get some pens made, pens go like hot cakes, if you put a cup full of pens in screwfix/B+Q/wickes they'll go in ten minutes and your name and number will go with them, put a cup full of cards there and they'll still be there in 6 months,
google is the modern way but its expensive, open a facebook page and be there to answer any inquirys,

Any info advice will be gratefully appreciated. Thanks Lee I would say get a website, it doesn't have to be anything fancy, just a page with your details and a logo. Sign up to as many free web sites you can to link your to website, the more you link to your website the better. Just keep linking your site and you will come up higher in Google searches. Facebook, Yell.com, google plus this list is endless, just keep linking! You will get lots of advertising sites contact you offering you this that and the other, but you can do everything they are offering you yourself by just keep linking your website everywhere and it won't cost you a penny! A friend did this for me when I was SE, I was very surprised at how many calls I got from this. Provide a top service, always turn up on time every time. Good luck dude  |
