Went out to a horse riding school today as the pipes feeding the horse drinking tanks had blown, it was 20mm poly but the connections were all compression. Went to the van and realized I didn't have any inserts or olives to suit, so with some quick thinking I made inserts from 15mm copper and found some 3/4 olives and strangled them to death, jobs a good in.  |

Well done PB, If you had that swizz knife you could have made an axe and with the axe dug a trench to bury the poly pipe to stop it bursting again, smiley-chores017 chop

Its buried but not lagged where it comes up into the tanks and on both tanks it had burst between the stopcock and the ball valve, about a 3" piece of pipe on each.  |

That's was quick thinking PB - couple of years ago up here it was splitting the lagged plastic pipes and that was only at -8'C and currently down south has been lower than that lately.
