Hi to all, - my first post.
I'm aware of the regs regarding who can work on a megaflow type dhw system, but does it also apply to a pressurised heating system. For example, recharge or replace exp. vessel. Thanks Laura.

Thanks Tom, entirely my sentiment, however I was,nt sure if certification only applied to cylinders, or also a linked pressurised primary can you confirm that.

Hi Laura. The unvented rule for cylinders does not apply to sealed heating systems, go for girl.

Just out of interest, this concerns the ch expansion tank (not combi) which is currently fitted on its side. BG engineer says it must be fitted vertical, is he being a bit over zealous.

They will work in any position Laura but the concern on its side would only be how well supported it is as they are quite heavy when loaded with water, if its well supported then there's no worry.

BG will find fault with everything then quote a ridiculas price to fix it, they're trained to do that and dragged over burning coals if they don't, Its all about money with BG 6XqEngr88r5GlWolCJDi

Just a wee point; A Megaflo unvented cylinder has an internal bubble, which a Home Owner can replenish. So no need for a 'G3' Unvented qualification for that.
Expansion vessels can be either Red for C/Heating systems or White/Grey for Potable water(unvented cylinders).
Some great YouTube videos regarding expansion vessels.
