The pipe was in a workshop, black alkathene and it was leaking from the conversion adapter in the stop tap,,,the water was running down the back of the pipe onto the floor....All sorted now. Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

Just shows what you can do these days with regard to stopping the water flow where there is no stop tap. Do you think this would be possible using a joiners "G" cramp PB?

Just shows what you can do these days with regard to stopping the water flow where there is no stop tap. Do you think this would be possible using a joiners "G" cramp PB? I've seen that method used before tappy a couple of small pieces of wood and a G clamp.

If you have enough pipe you can always bend it back on its self.

Just curious: What would you have done if the alka pipe had split that low down when it was clamped? I haven't come across it and it sounds fragile. Unless it was an emergency I think I would have frozen it but I always prefer to play it safe even it costs me time and money. I like to have a backup plan!

I always have parts ready at hand dcox and I'm always ready for the worst, its always worth while when doing a job like this to have a hose set up with a fitting on the end that you can whack on to take the worst of the water away while you regroup.
