Right friends, so the custard I've got wants a new shower fitted, she wants something powerful.
Now then, the system is gravity fed.
She's happy for a pump to be on all hot outlets. Would this need to have cold also to balance?
I'll need to check actual hot pressure but what's prompted the pump request is that the hot upstairs is ok but not brilliant.
Their 100% super custards.

Go for a Stuart Turner monsoon pump rocky and you'll need dedicated hot and cold feeds to it, these pumps will cope with everything.

Ok cheers PB. Quite good access in airing cupboard from the quick look I had.
I'll need another site survey to see what's what.
They also want a shower with good pressure. I've got a Mira excel ev at mine & never had an issue also I've got a combi not gravity system

Money's ok, she's a retired doctor
Can't take the piss but she just had a system boiler fitted last week for £3400!
I didn't know otherwise I'd have got my mate to fit it

When outlets come out of pump will it be a case of linking into hot feed from top of cylinder (nearest point) then link into cold feed feeding taps already(assuming its on l/p)Will he have to leave kitchen tap on mains? Is it worth trying to raise the c.w.s.t or is that to much graft for a little pressure?which flange do you recomend, never done this job but I thinking I would go for essex flange. Cheers p.b

Cheers p.b If you're boosting the whole house (except the mains kitchen cold) mate you can use the existing cold from the cwsc into the pump and then back out into the supply pipe and with the hot your feed from your flange will connect up with what would of been the gravity hot supply. I've have used all types of flange endfeed and I've never had any problems with the Essex flange, the salamander flange has a wide dip tube and won't fit all cylinders, I've fitted lots of Essex ones for secondary returns.
