Evening PB - another change of work now off industrial and commercial and into domestic would of loved to see a few images of the shower valve set up and pipe protection if you had any?

Hi battle. I didn't take any pictures of the old shower valve but it was an exposed valve (ugly looking),there was no protection on the pipes but I'll take a picture when I do it properly. The old shower waste pipe was under sized for the length of run so I'm up grading that to the next size up. In the picture you can see a waste pipe that has been chased into the walls and runs all over the place, a real diy job.

PB - what's your preferred method of sealing the shower waste to the trap below?

Do you mean fixing the trap to the tray ? If so I just use the seals provided because if you try and use silicon the seal will just pop out the side.

Yes - just done one the other day - expensive type Kudos and couldn't get it to seal had to use plumbers mate. just wondered if you do a belt and braces job with rubber seal and some sealant.

As PB says , if you use silicone the rubber washer will just slide out as your tightening it , what i have found to work well especially on those big 90mm wastes is a smear of CT1 on the washer and on the seating in the tray and not to overtighten the waste when fitting it , just hand tight will do it and make a good seal , also always use a McAlpine trap because they are quality....

Hi battle. The suit was all supplied by the customer and purchased from a local showroom and I'm not sure on the make, sorry. All my job was to do was first and second fix, no tiling. So I allowed myself 2 days to rip out and first fix and two days for second fix. 6XqEngr88r5GlWolCJDi
