yea and they last forever, those strips from toolshite get clogged up on paint, the steel pads don't, you can wash them out, the water won't harm them and they don't stick in your hands like steel wool does, try em PB. I'm sure you'll love them,

I'll give them ago Tom The good thing about the strips is being able to run them behind a pipe in a tight spot.

thats right PB, they are handy for doing that but once they get wet, they're fucked, and another thing is, you can't get a good ' plumbers death grip' on them like you can on steel wool, but on steel wool the 'death grip' harms your hands, the S/S pads don't, you'll know what i mean by that,

I like the abrasive strips, especially as you can get round the back of the pipe easily. But as said, they don't last long and fall apart when wet. Toolstation are usually good value, but I don't see how they justify over 6 quid for 10 strips.
This is another way if you have some access to the cut pipe end -

Nice find woodbine You're welcome, Plumberboy.
I buy a lot of stuff from Toolstation because they're nearly always the cheapest. But they're taking the pee with the price of those strips. I must lose nearly a whole pack of them and several reels of PTFE each week.
