Well the do say that being a genius is very close to insanity.
Why is an American doing an impression of a tradesman in The UK?
Does he charge travelling time from The US?

HeatingGeek has done 2 or 3 new videos. His latest one gives valuable advice on the F75 fault which is a big problem with Ecotecs. Really useful to those who have to deal with these things.

WTF? Where's the beginning/end of that film? Suddenly comes in half way through a job and ends just as suddenly without finishing. That's one of his better videos. Ffs, he’s really bad, he gives bad a bad name It’s shocking Surely no ones pay for his shite? Surely not.

Seems to be a very knowledgeable guy.
Perhaps it also demonstrates how plumbing and boiler repairs have become now separate jobs over the last 20 years?

There's loads of boiler videos out there, but most don't really tell you anything and you often come away none the wiser. They're often badly filmed and just show you what the fault is without demonstrating the diagnosis and repair. I hope HeatingGeek will keep making videos because some others good video makers have quickly lost interest and soon stopped making them.

I used to work for servowarm as a boiler engineer, I liked to solve the problems and got a good feeling from doing so, But servowarm liked part changers cos they made them money, this guy called 'tudgie" would change the parts that made most money first, so often his boiler fixes were £100's of pounds were mine were a lot less, when times got tough for them, I was laid off and todgie was kept on, he was a cretin but used as an example for any engineers starting at servowarm " some of our engineers earn £35K per year" type of advert,,, and thats the trend most companies work from, So to see a decent lad sharing his knowledge is refreshing and puts back a little faith in humanity,

Didn't servowarm let you take your van home and you was able to use their van for private use tom?
I'm sure I remember an employee of theirs once telling me this back in the 70s/80s.
As a young lad I quite fancied working for them mainly for this reason (thinking of the money I'd be able to save by not having a car).

yes they did Tappy, some people even had tow bars fitted, that was one reason I started working for them, It was reflected in your wages though, the basic wage was £160 per week at a time when £200 was a typical plumbers pay, You could make bonus by selling stuff to the customer and a good way of doing that was putting parts on the boiler at the service, This was encouraged by servowarm, no one ever got bollocked for putting unnesseccary bits on a boiler in fact there was a league table of who sold the most boiler parts, the top sellers got awards, and the bottom 3 had to explain to the management why their takings were less than the leaders, Basicly you had to rip folks off to avoid a bollocking each month, I did't like that, So then the forced me to leave by making me drop the van off at weekends and holidays, Tudgie, got a new van every year, won free nights out and was hailed top engineer and he was thick as fuck, He could't fix a broken torchlight and they loved him, A funny story was he'd just fixed a boiler and was presenting the bill as the husband arrived home, It was for £450, a basic service at that time was £35, The husband went berserk and picked tudgie up by the collar and belt and through him out of the house, ha ha, served him right the robbing twat,

The time he’s fucked up is when he pumped up the EV to increase the combi water pressure, fucking daft idea!!! I wasn’t slow in telling the twat either....... In fairness, his videos are good & every day is a Skool day. You can do something wrong for 50 years & think it’s right. This guy is fucking brilliant!! www.youtube.com/user/TheDickPuller
