Got an external stop top to replace, what's the best fitting s for it? looks like 3/4 in size.asked at few of local merchants but don't have anything! one suggested philmac fitting?but that would need inserts for the polyork?

It's a solvent weld system that's now obsolete.
I do come across it though and when we do we get a compression coupler from a local plumbers merchant. I just ask for a polyork to copper 15mm coupler and he goes in the back of the shop and produces one. it goes onto polyork without inserts and you tighten it up as normal.
It's a Kuterlite (gunmetal) fitting that's really made for underground and they cost you about £16.00 each! Sorry I don't know anything more about this rather oddball fitting other than it's excellent for joining polyork to copper.
Good luck,
Tappy,

That looks more like the fitting that I've used on polyorc battle, interesting to know that it's actually a proper fitting that's made especially for the job! The transition fitting is probably the best to go for E/F because your underground whilst battles is the better looking one for inside work I would say.

The pipe is going to be rigid,as its in the ground. Do these philmacs slip up and down the pipe? Dont fance flexing the polyorc!ill stick a couple of elebows down there if not

You'll be fine endfeed as when you first put them on they are looser than a hookers draws.

But a 22mm compression fits 1/2 Polyork. Done it a few times as long as the pipe is not too brittle.
