Does anyone use a swaging/socket former tool, the type you hit with a hammer? Are there any reasons not to use these?

I used them all the time in the 70's 80's, the firm i worked for supplied us all with them, It worked out cheaper than buying couplings, 15mm and 22mm, I've still got them i think,

yes endfeed many times, its slightly thinker than 15mm, Its the old 1/2 copper but the good thick walled stuff, good for a weigh in, but like you say getting 15mm fiings on is hard work, but now open up a bit of 15mm pipe with the ex pander and roberts your dads brother, Or just widen out a 15mm coupling, which ever is easier,

been playing with the expander today, you don't need to use a hacksaw at all, just slide a smaller size in, it will widen the pipe to accept the 15mm size and off you go,, magic,,,its a brill tool
