Now then lads here's what I'm wondering Bought a 3 set off rothenberger grips about half a year ago. Small 7'' pair, med 10'' pair and 12''.. So I noticed when I got them that the small and large pair were great but the medium 10'' or so pair was real stiff and tough to move.. Ok i thought they might need a bit of wearing in but even after weeks of attempted use they were still stiff as owt (even with it being cleaned / oiled). At the time I thought they were defective or something but as time went on and they got buried in my toolbox I forgot to try and contact rothenberger for a refund or replacement or and I think with it being half a year im beyond being able to do that. Anyone else had an experience like this? I got them from amazon BUT from the official rothenberger sellers page so don't know what the deal is.. at this point in time I'm pretty sure they must be defective, the casting or some crap, dunno if it's worth my time to contact rothenberger.. ? Here's a little vid showing how stiff they are compared to the others

I would have done exactly the same eyup. They sound to me like a rogue pair that's somehow slipped through Rothenberg's quality control. Worth contacting them about it though because Rothenberg are a really top end/price tool and they will want to protect that good name and image. The Channellock Griplock range (made in the USA) from toolstation I've found to be an excellent set of top quality grips. In fact I've just bought a small pair for getting into those tight intricate spots www.toolstation.com/shop/p53474 By the way my own "tomplum specials" are still going well (since the repair) and I still use them everyday at work! Tappy,

My cheapo specials alongside my griplock newbies. Looks like they've had a battering don't it? Brazing the middle pin on permanently seemed to discolour them so much that afterwards I had to give them a good clean up with emery paper - but they now work fine since the repair. They look a lot like that "Crescent" brand of the 80s don't they? Attachment Deleted I wonder how tom's are doing?

my grips are still going great, at the price they were, i bought 2 pair, I've never even touched the spare ones, mind you, i'm not doing much work these days, but for the money those cheap ones are a ' no brainer' even if you are a 'label man' the cheapos are good for a back up, and on the other subject, big tits, little tits, arse and fanny all fall into non existence after two pumps and a squirt, then its roll over and dream of plumbing tomorrow,

when you get to my age, there's no pump surge, seen it all, done it all, got the tee shirt and I'd sooner have a can of lager to encourage browers droop,
BUT on about pumps, I've rigged that chinese pump in my garden to an irrigation plan, video to follow soon, bMaM72ureaAMEVc6b1_1 camera
