Yes, fitted one few weeks ago for a pub landlord in his beer cellar. It's a nice quality bit of kit as you'd expect from Pegler. He wanted it to attach a length of hose to for flushing barrels and his beer lines, etc. I fitted one of these in place of a self tapping wash machine tap type piece of shite that some cowboy fitted last year and was leaking already. Reason I used this type instead of a normal outside tap is because he's using it lot's and turning it off and on a lot, the quarter turn saves him having to turn it loads like an outside tap. Also I tend to find some outside taps often leak on the gland if they get turned on and off a lot. Like PB said Woody "thanks for the review" and I'll fit a few this week or next.

£30 they are idiots rocky, why wear your gear out for that, it would cost them £5 in fuel to get to the job if it were local. Any one working for that money is daft as a brush. I think they’re jam rolls PB Bodgit & scarper More than likely mate.

They are fairly cheap for pegler !!! I don't think they have a built in check valve though.

I apologize for that poor effort I installed last year but I was rushed.
That's ok, PB. But the landlord reckons all his Ribena and pork scratchings were missing after you left.

They're better than standard outside taps. If it was for a customer, I would probably still fit standard outside tap, as they're a bit cheaper. But in certain situations, the Peglers make more sense. I'm going to fit one for myself.
And no check valve in Pegler.

I’d say £60-70 is about right. Though I always fit a BS1010 Stopcock & DCV also.

I do 2-3 outside taps a week, the bits you get in the toolstation garden tap kit work out about the same as buying them separately. DCV in there, through wall plate, 1/4 turn bib tap too, not Pegler though. I've ended up buying them when shitfix or poostation have no bib taps or through wall plates in stock which is pretty often round these parts for some reason. And the indy merchants round here are too expensive (£8 for a bib tap inc. VAT, £7.50ish for a through wall plate etc.). You wouldn't use the flexis for that job or the self tapper, but the self tappers are handy to have sometimes, can make a bespoke DOC with them The 3/4 flexi goes in my stock and ends up under a bath, not found a use for the 15mm compression flexi yet though. When I started out doing a £50 o/s tap offer this was the kit I used and I must confess I used the self tapper a few times too, but to be honest it doesn't save any time and is piss poor compared to a soldered tee or (if needs must) a John Guest tee to branch from for the feed to the o/s tap. www.toolstation.com/shop/Plumbing/d20/Valves/sd2696/Garden+Tap+Kit/p79669I see outside taps as a foot in the door job or a 'loss leader', you generally only have one per house, it's not usually difficult, takes an hour (ish). I don't try to make money from them, I do them so that the customer calls me back for other plumbing jobs and I explain that to them too so they don't expect me to fit them a bathroom for 50p I do get a lot of repeat work from it, probably one or two times a week I get a call saying 'Hiya Joe, you fitted us an outside tap last year, can you come and sort out our xyz...' Loss leader definition from Wiki: A loss leader (also leader) is a pricing strategy where a product is sold at a price below its market cost to stimulate other sales of more profitable goods or services. With this sales promotion/marketing strategy, a "leader" is used as a related term and can mean any popular article, i.e., one sold at a normal price.
