The solvent issue, never had one leak as far as I know, put a good dollop on your brush smear it all over both fittings and be sure to turn them a bit once home, have a quick wipe round because if you've done it right a bit will splurge out. When it's getting low store it on its side so your brush can still reach the solvent.

I find I get no leaks if I turn no fitting more than halfway then bring it back to my datum mark.
If I exceed that restricted movement I often found a sweating, sometime a dribble and even the odd gusher on joints. Now I've not seen it written down anywhere as to keep movement restricted as I used to do a full turn as I thought it would give full even coverage but it seems not!

I’m also a twister. I don’t think I’ve had one leak. I’ve fixed leaky ones.

Problem I have with twisting is often I seem to end up with joints where I can't twist due to other pipes/fittings already glued or dry fitted. Maybe I should make more use of datum lines...
Glue I think I've got no excuse and from reading the description above, I'm not using enough since most of my joints do not squeeze glue out. Using floplast cement the brush does seem very small. Especially on 50mm pipes. I get half way round and it feels like its drying already ! ALso thinking to get a bigger brush and cut the handle off so it fits in bottle.
