To me, this is part of the reason I DIY. Mrs Miggins has no idea what is involved installing a new sink or whatever. If some fking cnt did that to her joist she might be none the wiser until a couple of weeks later when Mr Miggins stands on the wrong part of the floorboards by which time those cnts are long gone.
How does the custard know the difference between a shit job and a brilliant job? I reckon most times they don't.
I don't know what the solution is though. Have an independent inspector check every job? I don't know......

To true dd, to the average customer "tap turns on the water = good job"! The average customer judges the tradesperson on how well they tidied up !!

Agree. It will look so much neater with the soil pipe hidden out of the way under the floor.
