I did some taps lady yesterday I think it was. 22mm ballofix, turned it & it popped, spraying water all over me. I managed so turn it back but it was dripping badly, late afternoon so i wasnโt going to fight the traffic to buy one. Customer was all ok, by the time I got there at 0900 the next day the saucepan was full.

I tried to wrap it in denso as a temp fix, it wasn't having any of it and a jublie clip on! Still dripped. Wonder if a 12 inch blanking rubber washer with a jublie clip would of done a temp fix till next day?

I've got a DIY question about this. The advice seems to be to use lever valves instead of gate valves if you just need an on/off valve.
Isn't a full bore lever valve just like an isofix washing machine valve (apart from the full bore bit) ? So should I expect all my 22mm and 28mm lever valves to start leaking at some point ?

Iso valves are cheap shit with a rubber seal as lever valves usually have a ceramic seal, better quality Dafty

I suppose most of us are guilty of iso valve sins.
Fitting one on our own plumbing at home - install quality iso, eg. Pegler.
Fitting one for a valued customer who pays full whack - quality iso again.
Fitting one for majority of customers whose only concern is price of the job (8o % of customers) - bung in a cheap, Chinky 99p iso from Toolstation.
It's the way of the world we live in.
