a plumber never gives in, there are times we retreat, reform and attack again, a plumber that gives in , goes back to being a milkman or courier or whatever he was before he read the Sun newspaper,,,

That's the tightest fit I've seen - I assume it was in a flat rather than a house?

That's the tightest fit I've seen - I assume it was in a flat rather than a house? It's actually in an old coach house battle (high ceilings) I managed to get in a small loft area above the tank hoping I could attack from above, bloody F & E tank right above I managed to get it done from below, giving them a price now for lowering the tank and replacing a cast iron stack too

Some people are stupid rocky. If the float on the valve failed you can't get the old float out or new one in

That's a belter, worst I had was about a 2 inch gap, arms scratched to fook doing that one. How did you fettle it, did you take the whole thing out?

Don't forget to tighten the float up properly... Have to say though even taking it out sounds tricky to me in terms of being sure you've got enough space to tighten everything up. I'm guessing she was charged ten times more at least for that job than if it was straight forward. Underdstand if you don't want to but would be interesting to see the quotes (normal change in the loft vs what you had to do here). If it was me, I'd also want to charge for "thinking time" on this one but then I'm a Dafty !
