Anyone got any thoughts on this? I think I've made a mistake in putting down my worktop before putting in the stainless sink.
The sink would ideally go close to the edge of the cabinet. All together it means getting in the fking sink clips all round is going to be hard.
If I get some top notch silicone/adhesive (CT1 ?), squirt that around the opening in the worktop and then leave the sink weighted down with water for a day would that get me out of trouble or would it be a total bodge and I shouldn't consider it? To make it worse, the fkin sink is showing a bit of a bow - its a meter long and I'd say sticks up about 20mm when left on a flat surface.

this is a long standing problem dafty, those clips are shite but, you do need a few in to ensure a water tight connection or,,,if you've got the time, plan B fuck the clips off, sillycunt the sink down , put a heavty weight on it like a a paving flag, and leave for a couple of hours,

Always insist the kitchen fitter installs the sink!

thats a good thing to do clart but, in a case of site work or social housing contract work, that won't happen, they fit the kitchen, cut the hole for the sink and fuck off, the plumber is left to sort the sink, the plumber deals with it one way or another,,

Cheers guys so if I use silicone does it go underneath the crappy "draft excluder" type thing or should I not use that excluder if I'm using silicone? I'll try and use as many clips as I can. Thank god I have got all the time in the world to get it right.
Also, should I somehow get the the sink flatter before fitting it?

yes Dafty, it needs to sit flat you can't have any holes/gaps for the water to get by, those worktops will rot in no time at all,

Yes, use as many clips as poss - especially in the area where it bows to pull it down. Silicoon all round, and that sink is going nowhere. Also don't forget to seal the cut edges of worktop inside the hole for the sink to stop water swelling the chipboard. Good coat of varnish or oil based paint - something like that.

If the sink is that bent I’d take it back & swap it I'm already on my second rocky 8-( . Bought it about 2 months ago from amazon. Don't buy this: www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07BVPYSKG/ref=pe_3187911_185740111_TE_itemMaybe its only 10mm - I'll need to check...you definitely can't see a bend in it and it does pull down. Maybe some weights on it before I fix it might help too. Only good news is I suppose is that where it lifts up that area is clear under the worktop so should be easy to get the clips in there at least.

Shitter I suppose that’s the problems with internet, not convenient to return it. Weight it down, clip it, stick it & report back

Update: I cut a hole to the required width but made the length only big enough to fit both bowls. My thinking was I could then experiment with how close to edge of the cupboard I could get the clips. I've decided now I could have put the start 10mm to the left (20mm from the cupboard edge) but I think I'm ok with the line I cut which is 30mm - waste seems very flexible. As you can see I like Makita ! (I used the router to get over the support post and jigsaw to cut the rest). One thing I have learned for any other DIYers reading this, is that if anyone tells you cutting hardwood is "hard" its bullshit. I used the bosch "hardwood" blades and then cut very well. To be fair the worktop is only 28mm thick but I was cutting that and the 18mm cabinet below in one pass. It drills almost like softwood timber too - have I got a fake hardwood worktop me lol ! Most of these delivery drivers are wankers Screwfuckers sent me a rad with a hole in it a couple of years ago. I sent it back and it was delivered to me again! Boomerang Rad! Driver probably dragged it along the ground to create the hole. Can't remember if packaging was damaged. Took 3 weeks to get the refund.... Never again!!
