Hi all
Say you need to remove a rad from one wall to another with a concrete floor.
Whats the best tool to channel out a trench for the pipe and what depth would it need to be. Also what protection would you need for the copper pipe...would passing the copper pipe through poly pipe be ok to protect or would duct tape suffice

Well its gonna be messy but, A grinder is the best way, cut a channel then chisel it out, It will help a lot if the grinder has a dust extractor or a water pipe at the side to damp down the dust,  |

This assumes there's either nothing of value in the room or you've covered it up professionally!
My version - as Tom says really only I prefer the grinders big brother I just use a Stihl Saw with the water bottle. I cut the full depth of the blade (with a diamond blade) wide enough for flexi trunking then that allows new pipe to be clipped and fixed the wrapped in Denso tape. Now the little bit where the saw can't get Into I use a grinder (I find the grinders aren't man enough).
