The buliding regs say that the check valve must be internal on a new installation, you can only use a tap with integrated check valve to replace the same. Saying that though, who really cares? It was fine up until a few years ago. I've even fitted taps without any check valve because the customer pretty much only wanted the tap for a pressure washer and they can suck the check valve closed. I've always mentioned to the customer that regs say I have to fit one, so if anyone asks...
