Right thanks a heck of a lot to all who helped me out here. If nothing else it made me push on the side of the bath and realise just how much the thing will flex without additional support.
Its going into a walled recess so walls on 3 sides. My plan is to screw/glue some 2x1 horizantly just under the bath lip. One end I won't be able to do that as its built into the wall but I'll also put 4 or more uprights in the corners. Finally since I'm doing all that, I'll chuck the 2 brackets in the bin and stick it on all three sides using Stixall which I think is virtually the same as ct1 except half the price.
P.S. I got the batons today from Wickes and noticed they had large labels under each timber with the measurements in inchs !!! So much easier than say 47mmx22mm or whatever. Yet another plus point (however small) of leaving the EU

You've going for a good option, dafty. If you find your bath panel is slightly out with meeting the floor, trim bottom lip off,fix into place, buy a length of cloak profile from Wickes, screw it on using white plastic dome caps,it Will look sexy as fuck, and the Mrs will never know 👍👍👍

No DAYS trying to get this right so hopefully it won't happen but if it does its fantastic to know all is not lost and I've go a backup so thanks for that.

I fit battens along wall to sit edge of bath on, use CT1 to glue side of bath to wall and three screws upwards through batten into wood under lip of bath.
That bath ain't going nowhere! But how do you get to the back of the bath to do that ? Mine is going in a recess wall to wall.
Sorry Dafty, I missed the highlighting - thought you were referring to the battens.
I only put the 3 or 4 screws in where I can reach just to give a small amount of mechanical fixing. Obviously I don't put the screws on long side of bath against wall. That would be daft!
