Iso's hadn't been invented back then neither had 1/4" turn taps - so I suppose that statement above should now be confined to the history of plumbing books

Interesting about the OD ID pipe diameters.
I've always called copper copper-tube and not copper-pipe, yet it's always been soil-pipe never soil-tube, also it's always waste-pipe and never waste-tube?
