Can a fused socket be added as part of the ring? How do you wire it? Yes that's the normal situation - lots of sockets on a ring main. Usually 2.5mm twin and earth - What is the MCB or fuse for that circuit in the consumer unit ? You'll have at least 2 cables so 2 sets of live, neutral earth to terminate in the socket plate. You might have a third if there is a spur from that socket. Sleave your earths but much more important is don't leave any bare copper visible !! Should all be nearly inside the terminal. Take your time. www.toolstation.com/pvc-earth-sleeving-100m/p41371If you're creating a new socket, you'll need a backbox and some slack in the cable. I'm not a spark and any help I provide is given in good faith and at your risk. Obvisouly make sure its all isolated (switched off) before doing anything.

All as DD says but at each socket point in ringmain you may only add one spur.

I did it at my old house a few years ago. Went from one socket to a new socket.

What item is the spur going to be used for?

If its just another socket as Battle says you can just spur (tee) off an existing unless the socket you want to spur from (connect into) already has a spur off it.
The fused spurs like the box you linked to is normally for lower power devices likes fans and pumps that typically need 3A not the 13a that a socket will provide.
