Make sure your ‘Husband’ doesn’t go for a Pan Jammer when you’re disconnecting the soil pipe from the SVP Branch. You don’t want covered in his shit or maybe you do???!! Who am I to judge what people do in private?? Check the height of the WC branch, ensure it’s low enough for the new shitter, the outlets are normally about 180mm from the floor👍👍 Oh, & wash your hands, shit gets under your finger nails on these jobs. Only bloke that likes "man on man" action round these parts is yourself Dick. Didn't know you found soil pipes kinky though. . You need to stop watching that weird German porn and watch some good British wholesome stuff. tomplum.boards.net/post/59360/thread

Cheers for asking Battle. I've attached a couple of pics of the job. I'd already plastered over the artex ceiling and 1st fixed some new downlights. Today painted it and installed the spots. I like to do that first as I bloody hate working with my site lamp that shines in my eyes all the time. I'll continue with the strip out tomorrow - hopefully finish it as its just that old wc and the tiles underneath. I've now noticed though that there are iso valves buried in the soil stack boxing. Highly useful I don't think. I generally don't like anything that isn't a soldered fitting behind tiles or other decorated walls/floors. So if its not too much of a pain plan to remove them and probably fit new isos underneath the new cloakroom sink (not chosen yet) and not sure if there's room for them to be hidden. I'm fitting a new wall hung wc. The frame, cistern and the flushing plate came in at £120 from Grohe which is very good considering just the frame/cistern costs up to £200 with Geberit. I plan to flush it a few times including with bleech to make the job slightly more pleasant. Then clean the seals as best as I can as Rocky said. I think I'll need to use a 110mm coupler I already have as the Grohe came with a 90mm to 110mm street reducer. Feeling confident now but no doubt it will all go to shit tomorrow haha Attachments:

I see a greatly improved access area and detect a realistic game plan is developing for the whole workspace as you do the work you've got confidence to get quickly out of the way eg the lighting. I strongly agree with the benefits of a well a illuminated workspace brings to the work area.
Every job has issues which only ever gets fully exposed after the hidden nasty become clear let's see what else you expose.

Ah, that looks like Key Terrain 110mm fittings. That’s why they used a WC connector on the WC Branch. You could remove that WC connector & fit an Osma drain adaptor👍👍
What the fuck is that half way up the wall😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Right, might be the last time I upload a photo as they dont seem to be going down too well but to my dafty eyes, it looks like to me this was a solvent weld branch connector that was cut flush leaving the bit inside. Then they shoved a finned wc connector into it as dick said. Now I've seen Tom's video of how to remove these but I'd be worried that if I fk it up I'll have to get the branch off which is welded to pipe under the concrete. Therefore, I might do similar to what the plumber did before but use a proper adapter instead of a WC connector. He used a bead of silicone around the join. Attachments:

In case any fellow DIYer reads this I bought the adapter above. Cleaned up the inside of the old solvent weld pipe lining the branch. Then sprayed a new adapter with good amount of silicone grease and with a strong push and slight twist eased it all the way home. Very tight fit and very happy with it and no way is that gonna leak and unless someone tells me different it doesn't need silicone either.
For the record when I pulled out the existing finned connector, it had only been pushed in half way and also was at an angle. I'm not joking I could have got it out with my little finger - amazing it wasn't leaking.
Case Closed.

Keep up the good progress as its being done without brute force thus no damage elsewhere.
