Might be the last time I buy a German wall hung frame. Yes they're supposed to be ultra reliable but they use 90mm waste and come with an adapter.
I've now got every 110mm ring seal fitting known to man and am still struggling to connect. The main problem is distance away from the wall. I need to go about 4 or 5cm closer to the wall from where the supplied elbow takes me. So I bought a Grohe 90mm straight connector today. I added the 90mm elbow to the 90mm straight and I'm now within 1cm from where I need to be close to the wall. If that straight connector had been just 1cm longer it would have been perfect or could have cut to size. And it seems to can't buy normal ring seal in 90mm .
I think I can do it with one of the connections not pushed 100% home and a little play in the pipes to make up that 1cm shortfall. I figure as long as I'm not forcing any pipe in at an angle it should be ok. Its annoying me it won't be absolutely tight but can't see any way of doing it. I did try converting the 90 to 110 and then adding a 110 elbow but that was way too big.

For the DIYers, what is the difference ? Edit: Ahh, I just read about them on screwfix. Wish I'd known about them when I did mine (which initially leaked because I couldn't press the clip together well at the back). Seems like for 3 quid more for the inexperienced it should give more peace of mind. I don’t use the ones that clip together I use the ones with screw & nut. Much easier.

At grave risk I've decided to post up what I've done On one of the pics it looks like the grey section is going uphill - its not. They're all going down as I know from experience what happens if there's an uphill section... I will be supporting the middle with a block of wood. Frame isn't yet bolted down - it will be. I tested it with a 10L garden watering can. Its not as much volume of water as a flush but not sure how else to test? Maybe its good enough - I whacked it down there as quick as possible. Also that is existing old copper in the background - will be getting rid and hopefully doing it all soldered except the tap connector To pb I can see your point from a pure plumbing point of view. Trouble is everyone wants everything concealed these days. To battle1066 God yeah I see what you mean. "What, you want X hundred pounds just to connect the waste up?" Anyway, here's a competition:How many connectors did I use? Bonus Question: Name them. Attachments:

I think the concealed look will eventually go full circle dafty. A customer of mine who brought another house that has 3 bathrooms (2 with wall hung toilets and bidets), they want them taken out and standard toilets going in. I did one for someone last year, converted it back to standard - people are realising when there's an issue it's no quick fix or cheap. A number of the problems are installer error and some product failure. Seems now days we have to keep re-inventing the wheel

Wall hung toilet + very heavy person + gravity makes me scared of wall hung toilet. I'm sure they're well tested and I'd love to trust them but as with many modern things, time will reveal the more reliable options.....
