I’ve mentioned this one before but the old hot supply pipe that goes under the bath & at the back then down to the kitchen is still banging & it’s loud.
Her indoors isn’t bothered but I am.
There’s no chance whatsoever of getting to it.
What do you think?
Cheers all

Could you re-route it somehow and just leave the old pipe were it lays?

There's plenty of areas and reasons what could cause the banging of the pipes but I would keep it simple to start with by Rechecking the boiler emissions if there correct move to lowering the boiler thermostat setting and reduce that value to see if it helps the issue.
also did you check what dick advised earlier on
"Check the Air Pressure on your Potable EV son. Turn the HE off & ensure the EV is drained, check the pressure, it should be .9 x incoming pressure.
So say you’ve a standard Inlet Group & Pressure Reducing Valve, it’ll be set at 3Bar so;
3Bar x .9 = 2.7Bar air pressure."

Could you re-route it somehow and just leave the old pipe were it lays? There’s no chance otherwise idve done it when I did the house up. I could do about a 2m run then it all goes behind tiles etc. Also I’m not ripping it apart now I’ll just have to live with it I think. If I ever retile the bathroom I’ll do it Cheers all

OK, It's not always possible to go down this route (re-route ). How certain are you that it's this bit of old pipe that's the cause of the banging? Pressure reducing valves tend to give off a bump bump bump noise whilst a worn tap spindle give more of a continuous drrrrrrrrrrrrrr vibration noise and then a tap will sometimes drip somewhere else in the property without being turned on. Something will show up one day rocky and then you'll think "ah, that's all it was"!

How about recording the banging noise,send it to tom via WhatsApp,might give a better chance of us all trying to help? Thinking outside the box could it just be loose pipework? Could drill small hole and spray expanding foam down there to cusion/secure pipe work?
