Its about 8 years old now. 9 times out of 10 it flushes fine.
Then occasionally, when starting to fill after flushing its lets out a little growling sound and then pisses water out into the pan which won't stop if I left it. I resolve it by giving the lever a little tap and it stops.
Yes its a geberit but I can get the flush valve out if I have to. I'm just wondering what does it sounds like is wrong and could it be solved by just cleaning up the parts? We have very hard water here.
I'm guessing its not the seal at the very bottom or it would pass water all the time ?

Is it a syphon or flush valve dd?
A lot of geberit WCs have specialist parts that you can only get from giberit and they won't supply them to you because they want you signed up to a service contract.
Is it the giberit WC/Bidet combi that Nick Knowles was promoting on his "The Big Build" TV program a few years ago?

I think its this one or very similar www.showerspares.com/search/geberit-dual-flush-valve-240.622.00.1/I guess for £15 I should probably just get it replaced? I don't doubt what you say about wanting to distribute through their own plumbers but it seems they are available on the internet. The latest one I put in (well half way through) is a Grohe. £120 gets the steel frame, cistern, nice flush plate - everything. A fair bit cheaper than Geberit and like it so far.

Cleaning up parts might work, grit/limescale tiny bits can cause that kind of thing 👍
