I don't doubt that Tappy. I know changing hi vents in commercial buildings they have the same principle, you un - screw the vent and it self seals the system and you can screw a new one in.
Not just commercial, PB. I had to change a leaking aav on a customer's hw cyl primary the other day. Luckily it was one of those Flamco ones, so no faffing around bunging or draining down. Just unscrew old one and screw a new one in. Great inventions.
