The most popular source of water hammer these days is a worn insert in a tap and it can be any tap causing it and not necessary the one that is currently being run.
It's a process of elimination really in changing the tap inserts (or even the whole tap) until you find silence in the pipes.
The most popular worn tap insert for some reason is in the kitchen hot water tap (which is the one that I always go to first).
A sign of a worn insert can be if you open another tap elsewhere in the house then the tap with the faulty insert will start to run all by itself!
Just like in JJs video.

Let us know how you get on hmv4u and good luck. Ahh, the mysterious dripping tap mystery. Me dad ( bless him) thought it was a good idea to get Roy Rogers in to replace the monobloc tap. Can’t remember how much he charged him, but job took about half - three quarters of an hour and included some hay for Trigger. Yeehaa 😂😂😂 |
