Well, a woman had a new CH system put in this year. New boiler, rads, new pipework, new unvented.
She rang me on Sunday & said her pressure vessel for the heating was reading 0. She tipped it up but a week later down to 0 again.
She’s not desperate & everything is working.
She’s had a look around for leaks, rad valves etc. Everything that she can see & she says it’s dry.
She’s asking if there might be a leak under the floor upstairs.
I said possible.
Any thoughts? I’ve not been to look as heating isn’t my thing but I don’t mind sorting it out but if everything is dry then the floors upstairs might need to come up. Is this the next port of call?
She’s a nice woman but as I say isn’t desperate or too worried but wants it fixed.
The plumber who did the install hasn’t been back. I’m not sure why as she said he’s a nice chap.
Cheers all

To start at the very beginning rocky it's always the expansion vessel that's the first check to see if there's air in it and if the air valve is not leaking air out into the atmosphere.
It might only need pumping up.

If she’s topping it up once a week, then a leak would show in the ceiling. It maybe under the Ground Floor?? I’d check the boiler EV first, as my learned friend has suggested. If it’s not that, switch everything off, put the pressure up to 2.8Bar & turn the ISO Valves at the boiler off. Tell her to boiler a kettle for a day for hot water, until you test it, also tell her to give her fanny a good scrub before the boiler goes off👍👍.........Nothing worse than ‘Scampi Fanny’ when there’s no hot water!!
Sounds like she caught the Installer rummaging around in her Knicker Drawer, that why she doesn’t want him back!!!
HTH👍

This is the sort of help and info you just don't get on any other plumbing forum. It's why The Brew Cabin is the best.
