If it's dot and dab,I'd use core fix, if it's normal brick I'd happily use brown plugs, however if it's mega heavy use resin fix with threaded bar cut to size!

Yes, I saw one of the new breed of Youtube plumbers (M J Tiff) hang a rad on plasterboard fittings the other day. Lot of weight when they're filled with water.

As my name suggests I'm only a DIYer. Every room I've previsouly done I've always removed enough plasterboard to fix noggins etc as I'm usually plastering afterwards anyway.
I'm amazed to see "builders" not thinking about details like this before they call in the relevant trades. They should know where the rads are going well ahead of time and ensure there are studs in the appropriate place. Surely ??
Having said all that I did once fix a rad with spring toggles on one side and to an upright timber stud on the other. Its more than solid enough I think.

Mine is going into brick ...but for future reference what donyou guys recommend for hanging onto plasterboard I do lots of New Builds & the Joiners always put noggins, dwangs, pads in behind the Plasterboard. We have lots of Plasterboard walls & Partitions here in Jockoland & as I said(Fibrewasher) in the comments of that Video; try to get one bracket on a Stud or at least use Brolly fixings. Wee single K1 rads are OK on just Brolly fixings, but any K2 should have wood supports cut in behinds👍👍
