Hello
Does anyone have any guidance on how to test the separate parts on an electric shower?
I’ve told the custard it’s probably cheaper to replace it but he wants to fix it! It’s a £100 Triton but it’s his money.

Cheers all My first port of call would be to check what spares are available - a lot of items are sold as not supported, meaning you have to buy a new shower regardless even if you wanted to repair it. |

There is a guy near me sells all shower parts, If he can't get it, It can't be got, www.yell.com/biz/shower-replacement-parts-wigan-7793091/He delivers to Everywhere, To be honest if it was me I'd swap the shower, getting the parts and swapping takes time and its a gamble and you can lose money doing it, a new shower will be warranteeed so no risk, the guy's looking for a cheap repair Rocky,  |

Tell him you're only happy to swap it out rocky - in my eyes they are a disposable item........... believe me Rocky when it comes to repairing them, " the juice ain't worth the squeeze"  |

Check shower hose for blockage, faulty pull switch, make sure the shower head is compatible with the unit (and not a rain shower head for example), full bore isolation valve is fitted, locate the filter and give it a clean if needed, beyond this it's really a specialised job to fix anything else.
Triton are a troublesome brand in my experience so I'd go with a new shower if all the above check out like the others have said.
What's up with it?

I agree..swap it out.
I’ve told them. More than once.
I don’t know why he wants it fixed.
I’ll tell him a higher price to check & fix than to replace & see if it then sinks in.

Interesting video and I've learn't something from it, however, it's very different on site than in a workshop, nonetheless, it shows that some of these shower faults are indeed fixable if you've got the time, patience and will to give it a go.

Rule No1; Put the Plug in the PlugHole if you don’t want to lose a screw!!
Rule No 2; Clean the Shower Head & retest.
Rule No 3; Don’t let the young lady of the house catch you in her Laundry Basket, looking for knickers!!
