Evening gents, I went to a job where a freestanding bath was pishing water out whenever used, I was expecting a clawfoot bath or slipper or something similar but it was one of those with built in sides like an all in one unit with the only access being from underneath. What a stupid idea they are... Anyway I lifted it up enough to disconnect the flexi waste and put it on its' side and it looks like the waste was never tightened even though there was a sticker next to it saying 'This waste is only in place to avoid loss and needs to be professionally re-installed before use' or something similar. So got my plumbers mait out and re-did the waste and no more leaks. Thing is, the bath wasn't fixed to the floor, the customer even said they're scared to move in it when using it incase it topples over. But because of the design I couldn't think of a way to secure it to the floor. There's only a 1/2 inch gap round the bottom so wouldn't be able to use screws through the feet like a standard bath as no access.
How do you secure these buggers?

with the bath comes brackets that you screw down to the floor then, the feet ( screwed iron legs with a square edge) you slide them in, Its a piss poor design , probably invented by a 19 year old uni graduate who's never seen, 'Chelsie ', a 20 stone 14 year old Mcdonald eating youngster who wobbles into the bathroom and plunges in the bath, creating a tsunami and forces the bath to move out of the fixings,

They are a pain. What about buckets of silly cunt and hope nothing ever goes wrong when it's glued down to the floor?

"Not for practical use" or "For show use only" should be warnings attached to these type of baths.
I'm thinking of all the damage that some of our social housing tenants would do to if they ever had one of those baths fitted!!
Still, if people keep on buying them manufactures will keep producing them.

and those taps are fixed at the base with 3 screws and at least one of them will be over the pipes so care is needed when fitting them, Chelsie will grab the tap to pull herself out of the tub and the whole tap falls on the floor, Going up the middle of the tap are 2 x 8mm flexi pipes that fill the bath, this means, Even with pressurized water, to fill the bath takes all night, if its traditional system with tank and cylinder, The best you can expect is cold baths because, by the time the bath is filled the water has gone cold, As Tappy says they are a show piece not at all practical, just to get them in the bathroom is a 2 man job Horrible job,

The install was awful to be honest. The tiling was nice though...
