High Guy's been to look at a radiator job last night no problem BUT when I looked at the boiler upstairs in airing cupboard on the floor was a Silver box with a pressure gauge on it and appeared to be connected to the heating system now I think its some sort of external pressure vessel but no sure The boiler is a Logic combi Please look at my attached photo's for your opinion's please

It’s great!!
They claim, as many other do, that their Magic Box will improve the Radiant heat from a Radiator. Which of course is complete drivel, it’s like saying, I can improve the heat from a Camp Fire, which of course you can’t!!.......’Ye canna change the Laws of Thermodynamics Captain’!!
They basically try to remove as much air as possible from your CH system, which is great, of course the efficiency will marginally improve with reduced O2 in any system. However, in sealed systems, with no leaks, will have very little O2 anyway. Its totally pointless even trying to eliminate O2 from vented systems, they’re completely open to the atmosphere.
So, in summary; A complete rip-off!!

Like most of these ‘Pig in a poke’ boxes it’s just a matter of re-filling the system & ensuring as much air as possible is removed. This video features one type, which is a simple Low Loss Header;

Here’s my Love Child Adam to explain the pros & cons of Low Loss Headers;
Don’t let it fry your brain, anything you’re not too sure about, ask!!

One of these may be a tad cheaper and just as effective. Plus take up a lot less space.

It’s amazing how opinions change. Latest is don’t add chemicals to your CH system. Oh dear, even a seasoned veteran like me can get confused!!
