It’s too risky
I’m going to tell them to get the tiler back.
It’s not for me this one. I can see issues even if I tell them the worst

If it's new bathroom, then new tiles are available. Run round the grout with multi tool, break couple of tiles out, rejoin new pipes in wall and make good. Install valve. I wouldn't be gagging for a job like this. Quote big. If you lose job, no problem. Get the job and it's a decent pay day.
Just make sure it's not injuns.  |

They’re getting the tiler back, I’m not prepared to open a can of worms. I’ll do the plumb but nothing ends. They’re ok with that.
