I use it and Vaseline depending on the quantity required to be applied.
for example quick connect coupling on the Amerian fridge for the potable water filter I use silicone grease yet a central heating filter housing I use Vaseline for cap Orings.

I use KY Gel, I find everything slips in easier with it👍👍

Some people use it for waste pipe/sewer pipe joints but you can use fairy liquid instead. Although there are some who believe fairy liquid wrecks the rubber so they only use the silicone grease.

I've got silicon greese in tool bag, use it on push fit stuff. Like to use it the fins on a pan connecter.. if I'm on site alone I use it with a fanny trap😍

Expensive stuff but it's very good, sometimes I'll often add a bit to a gland nut after repacking it with ptfe. Push fits (not that I'm a big fan of them) slip on effortlessly with a small dab of it. Waste pipe fittings also go on without any chamfering. Lubricating new mixer taps central spout (the latest ones can be very stiff I find). I once used it on soil pipe a swan neck to get over the gutter and by the time I'd got down the ladder it had drooped upside down . So not for soil pipe swan necks (because it's just too good).
