I've been asked to sort out this £3,000 abomination, its a polished stainless steel jobbie that doesn't really get hot. He said it pulls out at the bottom, I said what do you mean it pulls out? and for sure the bottom pulls out and there are two standard looking flexis bastardised into crooked valves coming out of the wall. I mean the thing isn't even on the wall straight.
I emailed the company who supplied it and they don't respond, how can these be allowed unless they are special flexis but I don't think so.

Any Flexi will be neoprene, not really suitable for high temperatures at high pressure. I can think it should be re-piped with ridged pipe.

You can't physically fit it unless on a flexi though Dick, its' the most stupid thing I've ever seen. Hidden valves that can only be accessed by pulling it out at the bottom.
This is on a header tank system so if they split its going to keep coming.

I'm really annoyed, I mean 3 grand for a shiny luke warm box on the wall in a cold kitchen which will one day flood your house and I'm the bad guy if I refuse to fix it.
We have a fancy radiator store in the town where I live and this thing came from there, I drive past every day but never have any time to go in, the fact they ignored my email infuriates me. I will have to go in and make them tell me how to safely fit it with high temperature rated flexis not £2.00 screwfix jobbies.

Another prime future contender for the "museum of seemingly good ideas in plumbing at the time". "At this rate I think we're gonna need a bigger building"!!

I contacted the radiator shop and in turn they contacted the manufacturer who rushed my customer in 1st class post a pair of 'special central heating rated flexi connectors'. The next day my customer tells me they have arrived so I thought I've gotta see this, I drove over and thought wouldn't it be funny if they sent the cheapest nastiest Toolstation jobbies and you'll never guess.. That's right. these were waiting for me...not even WRAS approved! the TS stock number was on the bag. I've rung the radiator shop to complain, I'm waiting to be called back. I'm making a stand against this now as I'm sick of it, I said to the girl I'm the one who gets the call on a Saturday night when I'm a few beers in that someone has come back from holiday to 1 inch of water downstairs and my insurance trashed. And for what? just to have a hidden valve radiator where the TRV is so hidden behind that its ineffective designed by some 30 year old non job snowflake with a bullslop design degree. www.toolstation.com/flexible-tap-connector/p29829

Mind I've seen industrial heating jobs with this product on below hydralink.hydrasun.com/PublicCatalogue/Page.aspx?i=11004"Furon's Synflex thermoplastic hose and tubing has been replacing rubber hose or metal tubing designs. Lighter materials-superior chemical resistance-longer fatigue life-these are just a few" the price was around £40 for a small hose - it was for industrial hot water pump on truck wall mounted washing hose set up

good for you wetfinger, get them to sign a disclaimer saying, if its ok after 48 hours, you're not taking any responsibly anytime after on the hoses or the radiator because, if the manufacturers are happy for you to fit those hoses, they have no idea what they are selling, they could be, 'cheap as fuck China junk',
