Hello
A couple have an unvented cylinder with system boiler.
In the morning if they open & then close the cold tap it bangs.
If they open the hot first & then the cold it’s silent.
The cold is mains fed to all cold outlets.
Any thoughts on this please?
Cheers all

The cold is mains fed to all cold outlets.
that might be the problem rocky, its not piped up correctly, the cold mains should go to the balancing/blending valve, then to the cold taps with the exception of the kitchen sink,

Fairly common problem with UVCs Rocky. Like most noises in Pluming systems, it’s pressure related. Check all Pressure Reducing Valves & check the air pressure in the Potable EV. It should be; Working water pressure x .9 = Vessel air pressure.
Most PRVs are set at 3 Bar.
The Inlet Group is also worth checking.
I take it you’ve a G3 Ticket?

I’ve not touched it but wanted to advise her. I’ve seen them piped up this was before with all cold mains fed & never an issue.

A faulty pressure reducing valve on the incoming mains (going to the cylinder) is by far the most common cause of this kind of noise on unvented systems (if it's like a couple of distant "knock knock" noises?)
If it's a "drrrrrrrrrr drrrrrrr" noise then I'd go for a faulty tap insert (hot kitchen tap being the #1 favourite) and nothing to do with the unvented system.
Could be anything really but above is the most popular cause's of noise that I find day to day.
