Never bought suede work boots Tom, but a college did & said they were not very waterproof. Mind you, you know what Sites are like in Winter, Trench Foot is not uncommon!!

fair comment Dick, in my case its just for everyday use, I like to wear boots, I find them handy in town when these ' pan handlers' in shop doorways try to grab your leg for attention, A quick stumble on their hand lets them know, I've no spare cash, I'm not adverse to helping the needy out but, these maggots' are just lazy druggies who want money for nowt, I'll let you know the waterproofing quality of them soon Dick, they're not real suede you know,

I always found on sites, if something was going to fall on your foot, it invariably fell on the top of your foot, not on the toes. Worst thing on building sites was those metal straps that used to hold pallets of bricks together.

Ah JJ, I hated those straps too even when they changed to plastic, they are like 'man traps', the brickies just toss them aside and when you're walking twix plots, the fuckers trip you up, Nowadays, they shrink wrap the bricks on a pallet so there are now floating plastic clouds gliding on thermal currents of air looking for children to suffocate,

I bought a six pack of the work pants Woody put a link for on special offer, they were Dickies at a cracking price and truly can't fault them. Mind it was a while along but I'm sure he'll comment if he reads this thread.

How are the trousers?
I got some scruffs ones a few years ago for £10 a pair with a belt & knee pads.
Unfortunately the legs are 34” & I’m a 29” so the knee pads are halfway down my shins!

Happy to report they’re great, very comfy!! Only problem is the knee pad pockets are a bit small, however, I wear double knee pads, which tends to open the top of the pouches at the knee. It’s no issue, still a bargain👍👍
