Someone has sent me a problem, Lets see how many ways we can think of doing it, here is an unvented cylinder, the unnamed person wants to empty the cylinder How would you empty it ? Attachment Deleted |

My drain drain down for the hot water cylinder assuming where in a typical house with a up and down stairs
1x Turn off the immersion heater and the boiler electrical supplies and implement safe working procedures for electrical isolation.
2 X Isolate the cylinder from its water supply - locally but stop cock if necessary.
3 X Run the kitchen hot tap until it stops to empty the cylinder
4 X Locate the draincock at the bottom of the cylinder use to attach flexi hose to drain to safe disposal point
5 X Place my waterproof towel underneath the draincock and monitor the vessel as it empties -
6 X have a cupper while thinking the best route to get the job completed.
