I was bloody lucky on Friday,
Had to replace a waste on a basin but the ped was siliconed up to buggery, I think whoever installed it had properly glued it to the floor and the basin so was cutting away at the silicone with my new Dewalt stanley knife which to be fair is sharp as fuck.
The gap between the ped and basin was tight, in some places too tight for the blade to go in, so with one hand I was trying to lift the basin a bit and the other hand I was pulling at the knife buried in the gap, slipped and stabbed myself in the wrist, judging by the wound the hospital said it went in about 8mm.
Nicked an artery and a tendon, it was a squirter, they said 1 or 2mm more towards the middle and I'd be having an operation to repair the damage. So off work for 2 weeks with work piling up.
Oh and I tested positive for Covid yesterday so even if I hadn't of cut my wrist I'd be off work for 10 days, I suppose that if I was going to have both things happen at some point it's better to have them together
