I wonder if someone can help,
I have no hot water from tap or shower but just cold wAter. No water comes from hot taps. Ever since plumber installed a tap in our kitchen to replace the old tap that was giving out very low pressure cold water and only from that tap we had no hot water.
Bit about system It's a central heating, in hard water area, low pressure that's why we have pump installed for shower. Boiler is Vaillant ecoTEC plus 615. Boiler seems to be working fine, pilot light comes on when switching on HW from programmer p, pressure was 1.0 to 1.4 but now 0.9-1.0. Hot water cylinder plus HW thermostat. Initially I thought problem with Honeywell 3 port valve v4973a but after changing and wiring it back still same issue of no HW I opened top lid of HW cylinder, I can see and feel plenty of water there. Cylinder has three pipes going into it one on top that I checked and two on front with one half way and other right at bottom.
Other points I checked gate vale is on. When HW on piped get hot as they should, water I felt inside cylinder was hot. Heating is fine. Cold water fine but shower is void of any water (I have pump installed)
Wish I could put some images out to help you guys.
Regards, Sal.

Sounds like an air lock, did the plumber not run the taps after he installed the kitchen tap ? Is the gate valve open on the feed pipe that enters the bottom of the cylinder?

Sounds like an air lock, did the plumber not run the taps after he installed the kitchen tap ? Is the gate valve open on the feed pipe that enters the bottom of the cylinder? Hate valve is above the cylinder and I turned all the way anti-clockwise and left it halfway clockwise from there. Btw I am getting stop and start hot water coming from my kitchen tap thus so far only kitchen. Read somewhere to use hammer to hit the pipes lightly, ever since I did them I am getting something at least. Maybe the whole system needs a kick on the backside:) I wasn't there when plumber installed the kitchen tap but all I know is before that hot water was coming everywhere offcourse with assistance of pump in shower. I have heard about airlocks but never carried it out, have very little idea so you think it may do the trick, wander if you have instruction to carry it out, I would be most grateful. Thanks, there is light at end of tunnel here. I can see.

Your other 2 options are get the hose on your outside tap and hold the other end on your kitchen tap and open up the hot side and get someone to turn on the outside tap, the mains pressure will force the airlock out. The other way is if you have a wet vac you can suck the water through.

I live in a purpose build mansion block of flats on the top floor, I don't know if I have a outside tap like houses do but I will take a look. Just looked can see a drainage tap. Only tap outside I can think of is on ground floor in the block hidden away in cupboard outside the lift. Wander if there is any other way of doing it. As per video how would I do airlock on my kitchen tap (link is already provided). Thanks.

sal, its the same tap only a differant way to turn taps open, cover the end in the same way and open both taps, but if its not an air lock you could be barking up wrong tree,
the tank may be not replenishing, go to your big tank in the attic and see if there is water up to the top, if not that is your problem,

ok I've just read you live in a flat, so you probably have a combination tank/cylinder, check it the top part has water to the top,

ok I've just read you live in a flat, so you probably have a combination tank/cylinder, check it the top part has water to the top, It's a condensing boiler and earlier on I opened the top up that is next to the coil. I felt and saw water in hot cylinder almost to the top. I didn't open the two on the side one half way and other at bottom. Pipes all get hot when water is turned on from the programmer, I can hear some water going around as well

Do you think there is a blockage somewhere but when I opened top of cylinder I did not see or feel any, I put a long metal hanger to check but seemed clear to me and there was water there.

After approx 2 minutes close cold tap and then hot tap, went straight upstairs in vain to see if toilet and bath taps have hot water.
