Hi chaps,not come accross stainless pipe yet, but if i do what fittings should i use? Can it be solered?☺

You can solder it using a special stainless steel flux. I've never fitted any though during my 44 years in the trade (ripped plenty out though) ! The stuff wasn't a success. it was introduced during a copper shortage (late 60s!) when the price of copper went through the roof a lot of heating firms used it. Five years on and all the joints had developed little leaks. Like I said it was before my time (not very often I can say that these days )

I've done a couple of jobs and spoke to this firm for advice teesside.swagelok.com/enthey supplied all the gear I needed and educated me on the best approach.

Thanks crowsfoot. Is there a compression fitting that can be used? Yes, Normal compression fittings will do the job (it was just the soldered joints that were the problem).

Thanks crowsfoot. Is there a compression fitting that can be used? Any compression fitting can be used but only use copper olives and bin the brass ones , also don't be tempted to use push fit as they will come off.....

We have been talking about "stainless steel tube" and not "chrome plated copper tube" ?
