Hello all
So in my bathroom there's a damp patch in the floor. I've taken floor covering up & the wood is also wet. Wife & daughter deny spilling anything & I know there's a pipe directly below the small patch
I'll need to take floor up. Bricking it.
Would you cut a piece out? The floor was tiled on top of so its a nightmare.
I don't want to do it
Thing is that there is no damp patch in kitchen ceiling below.
Any thoughts?
Thanks all.

Once you are CERTAIN that the water is not running from any applances, Sometimes a very fine line of water can be coming from the toilet or bath and 'ponding' in the middle of the bathroom, make sure its not that, then there's nothing else to but but investigate, I'd use a circular saw with the blade set 1mm less than the board thickness and make sure you know where the stop tap is, keep us informed rocket,

I've never had an upstairs leak on a mains pressure pipe that didn't come through the ceiling or light rose so I find that strange.

Ok. I said that to her indoors. Surely I'd see a patch on the kitchen ceiling

When I go out to leaks in upstairs bathrooms that are tiled I'll attack it from the downstairs ceiling, holesaw a piece out and have a look.
