Hi all, I have fitted many bathroom suites and after some advice. I have always fitted the taps on the bath at the end but done a few in the centre (using flexis) which looks great but have always refrained from putting them there as access for repair or maintenance would be an issue. The thing is I've been checking out a guy by us who's been doin a fab job and I asked the question do you have to remove the bath to access the underneath of the bath if tap becomes loose he said he doesn't and he always hardpipes never Flexis. And access to waste and taps through access panel at the front so am I I'm missing something or does he have extra long arms. so guys how do you do it without flexis? thanks wiggers

you can do it without flexi pipes,,use endfeed or solder ring tap conns soldered to copper pipes down to just above floor level , fit the bath and couple to them with pushfit, its no help if the taps come loose though, i always use brass backnuts on the taps, not the plastic ones and tighten them within an inch of their lives, And I always warn the customer, if the taps leak or loosen, don't call me,

there's an idea to work on Wiggers, A a pair of robot arms guided by a monitor to work on bath taps, It will sell well.

I'd never fit a bath with taps along the long wall as I think it's ridiculous

I'd do it if the customer insisted, but I'd state on the invoice that I cannot guarantee the taps due to access issues. Ideally I'd want an access panel in the room that shares the wall with the back of the bath but how often is a customer going to agree to that?

Only done one and the cheat was the stud partition party wall between the bathroom and bedroom allowed the fixed pipework install for the bathroom before the bedroom wall was boarded out.
Now that job can't be fixed without removing those plaster boards in the bedroom but that's the cost of fashion - crazy customers but it tends to be those with the money to do it! 6XqEngr88r5GlWolCJDi
